Welcome to the Northwest Area School District!

The Board of School Directors, administration, and staff are working diligently to provide the children of Northwest Area with the best education possible.  As the Superintendent of Schools, it is an honor and privilege to work with such a dedicated faculty and staff working collaboratively for the benefit of the students of the district.  Our teaching staff takes great pride in delivering a quality education to our students daily.  Additionally, our success is a reflection of strong family values supporting student’s educational needs.

Northwest Area School District encompasses the Borough of Shickshinny, Union Township, Huntington Township, Hunlock Township, Fairmount Township, and New Columbus Borough.  The School District is a combination of small town charm and beautiful rolling countryside making it a wholesome environment to raise children. 

The Northwest Area School District is an extension of the community we serve.  The staff works diligently to improve student achievement by providing an education that meets the needs of individual students through differentiating classroom instruction and preparing students for the world of work or the world of college.
