Mr. Joseph Rasmus - Elementary Principal

       Welcome to the Northwest Area Intermediate/Primary Schools.  As principal, my goal is to foster and maintain a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment within which ALL students are valued and can realize their learning potential.  We are fortunate at Northwest to have a highly skilled teaching faculty and support staff which is strongly committed to continuous school improvement and high student achievement. However, it takes all of us “working together,” with the support of our families, to provide enriching educational experiences for “our” children.  In my opinion, the best method to increase and maintain high student achievement is to foster the development of a strong school community where ALL stakeholders: administration, faculty, staff, and parents collaborate in order to best meet the needs of ALL students. The cultures of our elementary schools are alike in that they can both be characterized by data-driven decision-making, high expectations, collaboration, teamwork, and community involvement.  It is my sincerest intention to carry on these important traditions and practices, while attempting to cultivate consistency and progressive instructional practices.
