Mr. Ryan Miner - Secondary Principal
Mr. Miner was born and raised in Hunlock Creek and is a proud 1997 graduate of Northwest Area High School. After high school he attended Penn State Wilkes-Barre for 2 years and then transferred to Bloomsburg University where he earned his degree in Education, more specifically, Secondary Education: Mathematics. Mr. Miner was hired by the Hanover Area School District in 2003 to teach mathematics in the high school. He spent two years at Hanover before returning to Northwest in 2005 to teach 9th grade Algebra. Upon his return to Northwest, Mr. Miner enrolled in the master’s program at Wilkes University and received his master’s degree in Education in 2008. Mr. Miner then attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and received his K-12 Principal Certification in 2010. Mr. Miner served as the Dean of Students from 2008-2010 and became the High School Principal in 2010 which is the position he currently holds.
